Volunteer Opportunity at Toronto General Hospital or Toronto Western Hospital

Who:  The University Health Networks’ Volunteer Resources at Toronto Western Hospital 

Re.:  Volunteer Arts and Music Program

What:  Needs talented art and music students who would like to make a positive and meaningful impact on the lives of patients during their stay at the hospital

Requirements:   Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and be able to commit 2-3 hours of their time per week during weekday evenings and/or weekends at either Toronto General Hospital or Toronto Western Hospital.

Focus On Youth Program

Once again it is time for summer Focus on Youth applications!  Last summer the TDSB offered over 700 students employment in programs across the city.

Focus on Youth Toronto applications for Summer 2018 are open and close on March 5, 2018. Information and application forms can be found at www.tdsb.on.ca/focusonyouth.

As is required by the Ministry of Education, FOYT student criteria is based on factors that may contribute to a student’s in-risk profile. Domains may include demographics, school life, family life, emotional/mental health or other areas.  Students interested in this opportunity are to apply online at the link provided above.  Students must apply online to be considered for an interview.

Once the online student application process has closed on March 5, principals will receive a list of all students who applied online from their particular school as we require the Principals’ recommendation to invite the student for an interview.

 

 

Volunteers Needed for JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Event

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is looking for volunteers.  See the information provided below.

Wanted:  Artsy volunteers to help out with face painting at the annual JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Event.  Earn volunteer hours while contributing to help turn Type 1 into type none!

Contest Opportunity for Students from EduTravel

EduTravel for Credit is hosting an amazing contest for High School students across Ontario and we’d love your students to get the chance to win a trip this March Break 2018! They would they get the chance to travel to New York and earn a school credit from one of our exciting programs.

 

EduTravel is launching a new initiative called No Borders. It is a scholarship and bursary fund that they will be using to help more students across Ontario travel while earning high school credits. In order to finance their fund, they are launching an apparel line that they will be selling; all profits will go to No Borders and will fund travel for students from all walks of life in Ontario. They are looking for students to help design the logo that will be featured as our 2018 logo, and the FIRST ever No Borders logo.

 

The prize is: one (1) For Credit Bus Trip (NYC: World of Fashion, International Business, The New Yorker, or Civics & Careers),(2) their logo becomes the face of No Borders for 2018, and  (3) one full set of the No Borders clothing once it has launched
