Protégée Program for Female Students

The application for the sixth cycle of Protégée Program is now live. This unique program pairs young female Torontonians with female City Councillors for six months. For the 2018 cycle, City staff have been included as mentors to Protégées. Learn about the opportunities for women in local government, gain hands-on experience and understand the multi-faceted role of a City Councillor and City Staff.

Application deadline is October 15, 2017.

Canada 2067 Youth Summit – Grade 10 STEM Council Opportunity

Grade 10s who are interested in science, technology, engineering and math are invited to apply to be part of team of three ESA students who will be attending a conference on November 15 to come up with innovative ideas for the future. You will have the opportunity to work with students from other schools and collaborate with industry mentors and young entrepreneurs to create a shared vision for the future of science, engineering and math in Canada. You will learn creative problem solving and leadership skills and develop recommendations that will be presented to deputy ministers, school board leaders and other decision makers.  Interested in learning more? Please speak to Mrs. Janisse or your math or science teacher.

2017 Ontario Universities’ Fair (OUF)!

See all 21 Ontario universities under one roof at the 2017 Ontario Universities’ Fair (OUF)! The OUF takes place September 22-24, 2017, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Admission is free!

By registering for an OUF Passport, you receive a bar code that you take to the OUF and get scanned at university booths and presentation rooms of your choice. Its the easiest way for you to share your contact information to receive more info about the universities you are interested in.

The OUF Passport launched at OUF 2016 and was very successful!

  • 98% of registered students found it easy to register for an OUF Passport.
  • 90% of registered students found it easy for universities to scan their OUF Passport.

Rosethorn Junior School Fun Fair needs volunteers, especially face painters!  9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 4th 2017

Some Important Updates for Current Grade 12 Students

The grade 12 exit survey is one more required component for your graduation.  You can find the survey on your My Blueprint account.  This survey MUST be completed by April 30, 2017.  Please ensure you do so.  Thank you!

Nominations will be available for this year’s valedictorian on April 10 in Student Services.  Valedictorian voting will occur on the morning of the annual grade 12 breakfast.  This year the grade 12 breakfast will be held the morning of April 27 in the library.  This event is prepared in your honour by Student Services and Mrs. Wray.  Save the date!

Remember to hand in your community service hours.  You must submit proof of having earned the required 40 hours of community service to your guidance counsellor by the end of May.  Please ensure that you are meeting your graduation requirements.
