Join ESA parents, alumni, parents of alumni and community “friends” supporting ESA for a feel-good concert of vocal music ranging from folk, to opera, music theatre, and vintage jazz. It will be a night to remember in the intimate setting of Mimico Baptist Church, located South of the Queensway near Royal York and Mimico Ave.

Our fantastic line-up of special guest performers will include opera singers bass-baritone Andrew Tees, mezzo-soprano Cassandra Warner, and tenor Michael Colvin, actor-singer Brandi Ward, entertainer Brair Boake as MC, singer-actor-director Rick Jones and all-round jazz musician Brigham Phillips!

We’re All in this Together – Stress is a given…Here’s a workshop to help us all cope better

On Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 7:00-8:30 pm in the ESA library, parents and guardians are invited to participate in a workshop that focuses on providing tools and strategies to help manage our own stress so that we are able to navigate the ongoing complexities of raising teens and finding more balance within our daily lives.

The workshop will be facilitated by Tools for All Teens which focuses on school-wide wellness by introducing life-long stress management tools such as yoga, mindfulness and wellness strategies. This workshop includes mindfulness and breathing exercises and yoga suitable for all levels.

Wear comfortable clothes and come prepared to relax and exhale! You will walk away feeling more calm and less stressed in addition to having a tool or two for your life toolbox.

Reminder: Drumming Circle Workshop Tonight! Council Meeting to Follow

The drumming circle workshop starts at 6:30 pm in the ESA cafeteria tonight for those who signed up to participate. The ESA community is also invited to come out and watch the hands on workshop unfold, which will be led by Alpha Rhythm Roots using West African Djembe drums. Refreshments will be served after the hour-long workshop.

A shortened monthly School Council meeting will follow the workshop.

Hands on Drumming Circle Workshop and School Council Meeting – April 10th at ESA!

Looking forward to joining the drumming circle workshop with those who have signed up to participate on April 10th at 6:30 pm in the ESA cafeteria. There are still a few spots left for anyone who would like to take part in the hands on workshop, which will be led by Alpha Rhythm Roots, using West African Djembe drums. The ESA community is also invited to come out and watch the workshop unfold. Refreshments will be served after the hour-long workshop.

A streamlined monthly School Council meeting will follow the workshop in the cafeteria where upcoming exciting events for the remainder of this school year and potential plans for next year will be discussed. Don’t miss out on what will be a memorable evening!

Come Participate in a Community-Building Drumming Circle Workshop at ESA on April 10th

School Council is hosting a hands-on, community drumming workshop on April 10th starting at 6:30 pm in the ESA cafeteria. Alpha Rhythm Roots – an approved TDSB presenter – that has facilitated many engaging workshops creating rhythms with traditional West African Djembe drums to bring community together, will lead this interactive workshop.

Parents and students are welcome. But space is limited for this free drumming workshop. We can accommodate a total of 50 people. So, if you’re interested in participating then send an e-mail to [email protected]. Please indicate your interest by no later than Wednesday, March 21th.

Drumming circles are a great way to relieve stress, bond and build confidence and a sense of community, and to just have fun. Come and share the experience!
