Visual Arts Update

Thank you to everyone who come by and purchased work on Saturday from our first ever Art Expo!

We ran it this year as an experiment and based on the feedback we received plan on making it an annual event! Thank you as well to SESAT and the parent volunteers who organized and ran the craft sale on Saturday – it was a huge endeavor!

Upcoming for Visual Art:

Right now students are putting finishing touches on their entries for two international competitions, the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards (deadline January 4), and he 2012 Saatchi Gallery / Sunday Telegraph Art Prize for Schools (deadline December 10). If successful, our students will be involved in receiving $10 000 scholarships and exhibitions in London, New York, and Washington.

We have been offered the opportunity to exhibit for the month of January at the Samuel J. Zacks Gallery at York University – stay tuned for information!

ESA Photography will again exhibit during the Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival this May at KUMF Gallery in Bloor West Village – info to follow.

Early follow-up from PD3 continues to exceed expectations. Several students have already been offered placement in schools of their dreams, and I anticipate a truly remarkable year of offers. Congratulations grade 12!
