ESA Student Walkout

This afternoon, many of our students left school to participate in a protest rally at Queen’s Park to express their views on Bill 115 and the present teacher strike.  It is my understanding that this is a protest that will be attended by students of many schools of the TDSB.  This was not a TDSB sanctioned event and was not supervised by any TDSB staff.  That said, the TDSB has dispatched Safe Schools personnel and the police have been informed by the Board that this event is taking place.

I and other staff members told students to call home if they were planning to leave the school for this event.  Students were also reminded that they are representatives of ESA and should always be mindful of that.

Classes continued throughout the afternoon with the students who remained in the building.

Please feel free to call if you have any questions or concerns.

It is our strong hope that that there will be a quick resolution to this situation and that we can re-schedule the show for a later date. Thank you for your patience, understanding and support as we navigate through these difficult times.

Art Talks Postponed

The Visual Art Department has suspended ticket sales for Art Talks due to the teacher’s strike. We hope very much that we will soon be able to re-open ticket sales and present the show on a new date.

We hope that those who have purchased tickets will hold on to them to be used on our new date. In the event it is necessary to cancel, we will contact all ticket holders directly.
