Volunteer Opportunity for Next Door Family Resources

Next Door Family Resources is a registered charity providing support and early learning programs to families with young children since 1981. NDFR is funded by the City of Toronto and delivers services in Toronto as part of the broad range of Ontario Early Years Programs.

We are having a membership appreciation event on Saturday, April 20 in the Longbranch area and hope to find up to 4 students interested in performing a children’s sing-a-long and puppet show.  We also need face painters.  We are hoping to get student volunteers, however we are in a position to offer a small honorarium of up to $50 per student as well if that helps to generate some interest and can pay for any art supplies that are needed for the puppet show.

Please see attachment.

Trillium Gift of Life Network

The Trillium Gift of Life Network (TGLN) has created a program where a health care professional and a representative from TGLN come and speak about organ donation at schools. Last year they gave 60 presentations at more than 35 schools and are thrilled to be present here at ESA this year.

On February 19th & 20th Trillium will be coming to ESA to give “One Life Many Gifts” presentations. Each assembly will take place in the library for about an hour. (Teachers have signed up their classes to attend this presentation – but all students who have spares are welcome).

Though many of us believe that organ and tissue donation is a good thing, less than 25% of Ontarians are registered donors. That number may be even lower depending on where you live in the province.

Please visit your page at https://beadonor.ca/esa for more information.

Adolescent Anxiety: A Guide for Parents – Feb 26 – please RSVP

Thank you for your interest and we look forward to seeing you on the 26th.
