Annual Craft Fair and Silent Auction Countdown….8 weeks and counting. HELP!

HELP!  Saturday, November 22 is a BIG Day at ESA and it’s just two months away!  Mark your calendars and plan to bring your family and friends to the Annual Craft Fair and Silent Auction at ESA.  Leading up to the big day, we’ll keep you up to date on the latest and let you know some of the exciting possibilities that await your bids!

This is SESAT’s largest fundraiser of the year.  Funds raised are divided among the majors and really help enhance programs for all students.  We need your help!    We’re collecting donated items for the silent auction and we’re hoping you can pitch in.

Ideas, Installment #1:  Consider approaching your local neighbourhood store owners and favourite service providers.  Show and sports tickets are always a great hit.  Get creative – consider regifting new items, offering a service or rental of a vacation home – (almost) anything goes.

If you’ve got leads but no time, send us your ideas.   We’re attaching the introduction letter and donation form for you.  Please let us know how it goes.  We’re keeping track of everything so we don’t approach the same people more than once.  If you’ve got questions or need assistance, please contact Tracey at [email protected].  Let’s turn up the volume on this silent auction!

City of Toronto: Student Connect 2014!

ESA is pleased to be partnered with the City of Toronto for their Student Connect 2014! programme.

There are still a few positions remaining available for ESA students.  If you have already picked up an application form, be sure to bring it in to the Library.  If you would like an application form, drop by the Library and pick one up.

Municipal election Day is Monday October 27th.  Student Connect 2014! provides students with the opportunity to participate in this year’s Municipal Elections as voting place staff.  Become educated and engaged in the electoral process.

We have a limited number of positions available for students from ESA as:

  • Tabulator Officers
  • Information Officers
  • Accessibility Officers

All of these positions are available in locations within relatively close proximity to ESA.  Each of these positions requires your attendance at a one-hour (approx.) training session…  date, time and location to be announced at a later date.

In order to be hired to work on election day, you must complete the application process, through the Library at ESA, by no later than Monday September 22nd.

To be eligible you must:

  • be at least 16 years of age on Election Day
  • be in good standing here at ESA
  • be approved by the school for participation in the programme
  • provide parental consent, if you are under the age of 18

Applications may be picked up from the Library.  Assignment to the available positions will be done on a first come first served basis.

Library Overdues

  • Do you still have overdue Library materials?
  • Did you find that missing book under the bed over the summer?
  • Would you like to start the new school year off with a clean slate?

We have begun chasing all materials which remain outstanding from last school year.  Get ahead of the curve by bringing your books in first.

Students with outstanding Library items will not be able to check out new materials until outstanding issues have been cleared.

ESA Yearbooks: Not get yours?

If you did not pick up your 2013-14 ESA Yearbook last June…  please drop by the Library before or after school to collect it.

Not sure whether you were supposed to get one or not?  Refer to the list posted on the whiteboard inside the Library.  This list is also posted on the Student Share Drive in the “Library @ ESA” folder.  Look for the file titled “Yearbooks 2013-14.”
