Ontario Band Association 2015

Congratulations to the ESA Concert Band and Wind Ensemble.  Both Ensembles won Double Gold awards at the Ontario Band Association Music Festival that took place in February.  Both ensembles received invitations to the Musicfest National Music Festival taking place in May at the convention centre.

In addition to the Gold awards, the Wind Ensemble was chosen as the top band in their division and the brass section was given special recognition as being the top Brass Section in the Festival.

Congratulations to all our musicians.

Reminder: Trustee Pamela Gough will be hosting her next Ward Forum on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 in the Library of ESA from 7 pm to 9 pm.

The Agenda is jam-packed: there will be reports from the Ward 3 Reps of PIAC (Parent Involvement Advisory Committee), French as a Second Language Advisory Committee FSLAC) and Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) as well as updates from Trustee Gough and Superintendent Jane Phillips-Long. The featured Guest Speaker will be Karl Subban, former Principal at TDSB (and father of NHL player P.K. Subban). Mr. Subban will be speaking about Leadership.

Part of the evening will be set aside for networking. Trustee Gough has invited experts in fundraising through grants, student health, special education programs, virtual library resources and special programs available to students at the schools in Ward 3. Information tables will be set up to allow you to circulate to the topic of your choice.
