Library Overdues…

There are still some students – including graduating students – with outstanding Library items.  Library materials may continue to be returned during the first two weeks of July.

  • Please deposit items in the box on the bench in the Main Office.

Any Library items which remain outstanding as of the end of this school year will begin to accrue overdue fines.  Fines will need to be cleared before additional items may be borrowed next fall.

Help a Garden… Summer Volunteers Still Needed

We’re still looking for volunteers for the following weeks:  July 20th, July 27th, August 3rd and August 17th.

  • Volunteers – staff, students, parents, friends – are still needed to mind our garden for one week each during the summer.
  • This typically means watering once, subject to weather conditions.
  • You need to be able to get to the school between 7am and 2:30pm…  the task takes approx. 1.5 hours.

Environment Canada’s 3 month summer forecasts suggest that this summer will be “just right”…  neither too hot, too cold, nor too wet or dry.  If we get a good rain the week you’re on, it’s a free pass.  If it’s a scorcher that week, a second day of minding is greatly appreciated.

Community service hours are available for students who participate in summer maintenance.

Send en e-mail to [email protected] indicating which week(s) you would be available to assist.  We’re needing to get the schedule finalised…

Many thanks in advance.

Missing a crockpot? or a casserole? or…

  • Have you (or the student in your house) cooked or baked for an event in the Library this year?
  • Are you missing any kitchenware that was sent to school but never found its way back home again?

The Library has a number of such items which have not been picked up to be returned home.  We have:

  • a crockpot;
  • a covered casserole;
  • some serving ware; and,
  • an assortment of hard plastic storage containers.

See photos, below, of the crockpot and casserole.

If you think you are missing something please have the student in  your house drop by the Library on Marks Review Day (Tuesday June 23rd) to claim your stuff.

2014- 2015 A Year to Shine – Look at what your generosity accomplished

The 2014-2015 year was marked by many incredible accomplishments in all areas of the school.

The ability of our students to rise above in all disciplines ~ Academics, Arts and Athletics – continues to take our breath away and take them to new personal heights.

While magical, it also takes a lot of people to give our students the greatest opportunities to shine.  We are so grateful for our faculty and staff.  We recognize that we also need the ongoing support and involvement of parents/guardians through their donations and participation in events to contribute to the success of the students and the school community.

As our children move through high school, it is so important and extremely rewarding to be part of their community. On September 15, 2015, please come out and join in the first School Council/SESAT meeting of the 2015-16 year at 7:o0 pm in the Library.

With so many things happening in the ESA community, it can be easy to miss things, so be sure to sign-up for ESA eNews at www.esainfo.ca.

ESA eNews is the best way to stay in the know.  If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact us at [email protected] and/or [email protected]

Adopt a Yard Waste Bag!

Wanted!  Families to take one – or more – yard waste bags home to put out on your next collection day.

With the work taking place renovating the little courtyard we have a surplus of year waste bags which we have nowhere to put out.  The City does not collect yard waste from schools and we have farmed out as much as we can to friends and family.

We need more capacity!

  • If you’re driving by/near the school this weekend and have capacity in your car, there are 6 yard waste bags parked behind the hedge in the south (main) parking lot.  Please feel free to take them with you!

We have more yard waste bags which will be ready to go by the end of the day Monday.

  • If you are bringing your student to school on Tuesday for Marks Review Day, we can give you a bag or two.
  • If you live in the South Etobicoke or Swansea area we can deliver the yard waste bags to your door.

Many thanks in advance to any and all who are able to help us process the yard waste.  Send an e-mail to [email protected] if you can help out or need more info.

Library Returns: Please bring on Marks Review Day

THANK YOU, again…  to everyone who has continued to return their outstanding Library materials.

Approx. 80% of what was outstanding at the close of circulation has been returned.  If you still have outstanding items, please bring them to the Library on Marks Review Day, Tuesday June 23rd.

Any Library items which remain outstanding as of the end of this school year will begin to accrue overdue fines.  Fines will need to be cleared before additional items may be borrowed next fall.

Last Chance for Fundraising Feedback

Thanks so much to those of you who have already submitted your fundraising feedback.

For those of you who haven’t had a chance to do this, just a reminder to go to the Fundraising Survey and fill it in by the end of the day Friday.

We really appreciate your thoughts!

Have a great weekend!

Please Tell Us What You Think

This year we ran a number of fundraising activities to raise money for our arts programs and for our building.  We are reflecting on how these activities went and would like your thoughts as well.  We would appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to answer this Fundraising Survey to tell us what you think.  (There are only 9 questions!)

Thanks for helping us to get better at this aspect of supporting the Students of ESA!

A little bit of your time goes a long way! Come on out June 15th to learn more

Hello!

Please come and join SESAT (Supporters of ESA Talent) on Monday June 15th, 6-9pm at Artisano’s Bakery and Café, located at 1020 Islington Avenue, Etobicoke.  This will be an evening of fun and focus as we plan our fundraising and support initiatives for the 2015-16 school year.  If you are ready to be challenged, come on out! If you have great ideas to share, come on out! If you want to help ESA students – see you there….

Your SESAT Team

Are you an Accountant? Are you an ESA Parent?

If you are choosing to read beyond the title, then you are likely just who SESAT needs a little help from!   Kindly reach out to us at [email protected] should you have a little time to volunteer to help between now and end of August to help with our books for this year.  Your contribution of time goes a long way to helping our students, the school and the volunteer members of SESAT.

Thanks,

The SESAT Team
