The Big Screen Student Film Fest brought to you by Scotiabank® SCENE®*’s Audience Choice Award goes to…

The results are in…

And the first ever winner of The BSSFF Audience Choice Award is:

Kate Taeuschel’s Reprogram Ourselves.  Starring Parsa Khergheh Poush, this music video asks the audience to consider the impact of singledom on an individual in a world built for couples.

Honorable mentions go out to Blown by Joey Phillipson, an emotionally riveting tale of a young man’s coming of age and Petrichor by Carol Nguyen, a beautiful and understated exploration of love and loss.

Congrats to all of ESA’s filmmakers on a most excellent festival.

Look for these films and many others to be posted soon at The Film Shack.

All the Rage by Courtney Summers

  • I’m never disappointed by Courtney Summers.
  • Another riveting novel taking on challenging issues with no holds barred – in this case rape culture and victim shaming.
  • I did have a little trouble following the timelines – the chronology, back and forth.
