If you are interested in attending a painting camp July 11-15 please feel free to contact me at [email protected]

It is an excellent opportunity to spend five days in a studio environment and learn from some of esava’s best painters! Great for people in grades 8-10 this year.

Textbooks

All textbooks must be returned to the school on Monday, June 27th.  Students should return any outstanding textbooks to the cafeteria ensuring that they complete a text book return form.  Each year we spend thousands of dollars to replace lost textbooks.  We appreciate your attention to this matter.

ESsays Creative Writing Blog: The Books Are Here!

The ESsays Creative Writing Blog for students is a forum for ESA students to share their work and put their writing out there in public.  By the end of this year, the blog included work from 17 ESA students.

On June 16th we took delivery of bound print copies of the blog.

  • Registered with Library and Archives Canada – this volume has a registered ISBN number – which means that the participating students may now lay claim to having been, officially, published!

This publication, titled “Letters, Vol II” is available for sale – in limited quantities – for $5 per copy.

  • Every student who contributed will receive their own personal copy of the publication.
  • Students should collect their copy from Ms. Wray in the Library on Marks Review Day, Monday June 27th.

Send an e-mail to [email protected] if you’d like a copy for yourself for posterity.

Congratulations to all involved in the project.  We look forward to continuing the project next year.

ATTENTION GRADE 12S – MISSING VOLUNTEER HOURS

There are a number of grade 12s who will NOT be able to graduate this year because you still have not handed in your community service hours. Please contact student services asap to ensure that your hours have been updated and so you can graduate. Thank you!

Chairs On the Move!

The transformation has begun! We’re all very excited that the team is in early and making great progress.  They will finish off the floors and next in will be scaffolding to fix the ceiling.  In mid-August, the ceiling should be completed (cross all fingers for no complications) and the new chairs installed.  I’ll keep you informed of the progress over the summer, as I am able.

New Skateboard Park at ESA

For those of you still considering the purchase of a chair, it’s not too late!  All monies will continue to flow into the auditorium’s beautification project.  On this site you will see the scrolling image of theatre chairs; click on that and you’ll be taken through the process of making a purchase.  We are in the process of having the plaques engraved – instructions on how to submit your information were posted yesterday.  Please contact me if you have any questions about this process… thanks for your support, as always!

p.s. the tentative date for the official opening show of the new theatre is Tuesday, November 8th!
