See you there

You are invited to “Because I am A Girl”

I am sending an invitation to the entire ESA community to join me for “Because I am a Girl,” a special evening at ESA on Thursday, June 1, organized by Ms. Moorhouse and ESA students.

This is ESA’s second annual concert to benefit the “Because I Am A Girl” campaign, and features a wide range of performances by talented individuals and groups, all for this important and worthy cause! The performances take place in our auditorium on Thursday night at 7:00 PM. $10 tickets can be purchased at www.esainfo.ca [“Tickets” top right side of the screen] and also at the door.

All the proceeds from our evening go to Plan Canada in support of their “Because I am a Girl” campaign.

“Girls’ Rights are Human Rights. Every day, millions of girls around the world are denied their basic human rights – simply because they’re girls. Because I am a Girl is a global initiative working to end gender inequality and promote girls’ rights.”

You can read more about this program at the Plan Canada website, http://plancanada.ca/because-i-am-a-girl

You can see more of the work of this group at their youtube page

Yard Sale was a huge success, raising $5670.00! Thanks to everyone who contributed to the event.

This Past Saturday, SESAT hosted the 2nd Annual  Yard Sale in the Parking Lot.  It was the event to close out our year and push us over our fundraising target for the year…..Way to Go everyone!

It was a perfect day for  Garage Sale enthusiasts, dropping by ESA as part of the sale circuit that was in full swing along Royal York Road.    In addition to over 30 tables of wares, racks of clothing choices, electronics, toys, furniture etc, we had an Ice Cream Truck courtesy of Ice Cream Kim and a Smoked Meat Concession stand courtesy of Smoke Works that contributed to our success.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who spent days and nights collecting and prepping items for the sale, advertising and selling all day Saturday,  to United Van Lines for the donation of the Storage Container that held all our goods and to our custodians who went above and beyond to ensure we were able to pull this event together.

Drop By the Snack Shack before it’s gone…..See you there Tuesday May 30th 2:45pm Main Lobby
