For the 18th consecutive year, the TDSB Continuing Education Department and other school boards in the GTA are partnering with the University of Toronto (UofT) Faculty of Medicine in the delivery of the UofT Summer Mentorship Program (SMP) in July 2012.

As stated on the final page of the application:
The SMP’s intent is to better address the diverse health care needs of Canada. Today’s schools of health care professional education strive to encourage and enable youth from high school student groups that have traditionally not participated in the health care field. Aboriginal Peoples of Canada and African-Canadian students are two such groups that may benefit from such strategies of encouragement.
