Grade 9 Centre Island Trip – One Week Away!

Parents should have received a letter and permission for for this, but just in case, here are the contents of the letter and a permission form below!

On Friday, September 18th, the Student Council of Etobicoke School of the Arts is hosting an all day event for Grade 9 students on Centre Island. The event will provide our new students a chance to get to know each other better, build teamwork skills and have a lot of fun!

The students will not go to school that day, but instead will meet at the Ferry Docks at 9:00 a.m. The docks are located at the foot of Bay Street, just south of Union Station. It is about a 5-minute walk from Union Station. We will proceed to the island for our day of activities and the students will be released for the day at 3:00 and will return home on their own. It is important that students arrive before 9:00 a.m. in order for us to take attendance before boarding the ferry. If your child is ill or unable to attend, please make sure you call in your student’s absence to the school so we know not to expect them.

There is no cost to the students for the day. A lunch of hotdogs and hamburgers will be provided free of charge, in addition to the cost of the ferry ride and all activities. If you have special food considerations, you may choose to bring your own lunch.

The event is all outdoors, so you should dress appropriately. Should it appear that the weather will make the activities impossible, we will make a decision by 6 am on Friday Sept. 18th and post details on our website: www.esainfo.ca. In that case, students are expected to attend regular classes.

Please fill out the attached permission form and return it to school by Thursday, Sept. 17th.
