Poetry in Voice: What’s all the fuss about? Come see for yourself on Tuesday March 28th. (Still looking for parents volunteers too…)

ESA has a long and proud history with Poetry in Voice, Canada’s national recitation competition.

This year, we are delighted to take that relationship to the next level and host a brand new event for Poetry in Voice.

This event – to be held in the Auditorium next Tuesday morning, March 28th – is an invitational Team Regional Competition.

  • Eight participating schools will each be bringing three (3) students.
  • Each student recites one poem.
  • One team wins!

Our ESA team is composed of three delightful young ladies: Renee Withnell, Sama Konateh and National Finalist, Katie Beale.

All members of the ESA Community are invited to attend.  The house will open at 8:40am…  the main event to begin promptly at 9:00am.  We expect to be done by  no later than 11:30am.

**************************************************************************

To host this event requires lots of people power.

  • We have students helping out as Stage Managers and Tech Crew
  • We have a wonderful house band…  ESA Grads who are coming back for the gig.
  • We have some parents and grads helping out with judging (folks who help judge our in-school finals).

We need additional help with registration, breakfast set-up, and minding the Library for the morning while the competition is under way. We’ll make sure you get a chance to pop in and see at least one round of recitations, if you wish to…

Since the event takes place during school hours – we hope to be finished by 11:30am – we are looking for parent volunteers to complement our volunteer crew.

If you are interested and able to help out – anytime between 7:00am and 11:30am – please send an e-mail to enid.wray@tdsb.on.ca…  and we’ll get back to you.
