Student Vote: Our Results

It’s 9pm and the polls are closed.  The moment has arrived.  We are now able to announce the results of our ESA Student Vote 2018.
  • All across Ontario, between May 29th and June 7th, students took on the roles of election officials and organized a parallel vote using the materials provided.
  • The ballots were counted by each school and reported to CIVIX.

As of 4:00p.m. (ET) on June 7th, 2,166 schools had reported their election results, representing all 124 electoral districts in the province.  In total:

  • 280,691 ballots were cast by student participants;
  • 268,091 accepted ballots;
  • 7,103 rejected ballots;
  • 2,562 declined ballots; and,
  • 2,935 unmarked ballots.
Here are the ESA School Results for the provincial riding of Etobicoke-Lakeshore:
  • Ontario NDP – 47 Votes
  • Ontario Liberal Party – 22 Votes
  • PC Party of Ontario – 13 Votes
  • Green Party of Ontario – 12 Votes
  • Libertarian – 1 Vote
  • Spoiled Ballots – 2
  • Declined Ballots – 0
